Minimalism at the highest level –
the new rolls-royce black badge ghost makes its debut in Ukraine.
NEW ROLLS-ROYCE BLACK BADGE GHOST DEBUTS IN UKRAINE!
On 4 February 2022, the Ukrainian official dealer of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars – ABT Bavaria – for the first time presented the new Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost in the format of an unikal performance with bright light and sound effects.
- “Dark” intimation of the Ghost’s minimalist design makes its debut in Ukraine.
- Modernization of the transmissions and chassis for increased productivity and more emotionality behind the wheel.
The brand’s fans were able to get acquainted with the car at an exclusive event at the Metropole residence in the center of the capital. Above-standard stands, small-size facade, light and sound design ideally emphasized the atmosphere of the novelty – Black Badge Ghost. The event was held in the best traditions of the new British Rolls-Royce brand.
Erick Berning, CEO of ABT Bavaria, said during his promotion: “2021 has been a very successful year for us first and foremost because the stripped-down design philosophy of the new Ghost has received extremely positive feedback from our customers. Black Badge Ghost is the most technologically advanced model of Black Badge and I am convinced that the popularity of Rolls-Royce in Ukraine will grow even more”.
Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has always had a special category of customers. Innovators, who have achieved success by taking risks and challenging the conditions, interact with the objects of luxury, dictating their own rules. They have created new codes of engagement that resonate with their sensibilities: with an enigmatic aesthetic, with a timeless character and with a bold design.
The Ghost model appeals to the requests of those clients who are close to minimalism and the emphasis on value. At the same time, some of them tried to create a more provocative image of Ghost.
In response to the requests of a special category of successful people, the Rolls-Royce team developed a new palette of colors and bolder variants of treatment with technical materials, and also changed characteristics of cars, having strengthened emotional impact from driving. However, the feeling of easy steering and legendary smoothness of motion remained unchanged, because these very characteristics of Rolls-Royce first committed the attention of the progressive generation of customers. That’s how the Black Badge Ghost was born. The dark side of the philosophy of streamlined luxury, which implies minimalism at its highest level.
The Black Badge Ghost’s body design options are unlimited: customers can choose one of the 44,000 pre-designed Farby colors or create their own unique color from the Bespoke palette. And still most of the customers wanted to see the Black Badge Ghost in the corporate black color. This is the darkest tint of black, which exists in the automobile industry. To achieve this, the electrostatically charged body, previously covered with a white basis, powdered 45 kg of filling, after which the fabulous car is turned into drying. Then Black Badge Ghost is coated with two balls of clear lacquer, and a team of four masters polishes it by hand – that’s how the branded lacquer coating with the effect of royal glare is created.
The legendary Black Badge symbols – the Spirit of Ecstasy figure and the Pantheon radiator grille – are also presented in a dark finish. Rather than ennobling these elements with black farbohood, the creators coated them with chrome using electrolyte, which is applied on the lining of the steel, which does not corrode, darkening the surface. The thickness of the applied coating is only one micrometer, which is approximately one hundredth of the width of a human hair.
The robust character of the Black Badge Ghost also reveals itself in the loose finishing materials. The interior design is fully in keeping with the philosophy of stripped-down luxury, with its bright embellishments in favor of clean design and engineering excellence.
Rolls-Royce engineers have given the Black Badge Ghost a more dynamic character, which is combined with a sleek, uncluttered design for legendary smooth running and finely tuned acoustics in the cabin. The suspension of the model has a large volume of pneumatic cams for the reduction of body roll at more abrupt maneuvers on the road.
The capacity of the 6.75-liter twin-turbo V12 Rolls-Royce engine remains unchanged: it was deemed more than sufficient. The potential of the power-unit allowed to “raise” additional 29 hp, due to what the maximum power has reached 600 hp. The feeling of ‘one unchanged gear’, a feature of all Rolls-Royce cars on the move, has been enhanced by an increase in torque by 50 Nm to 900 Nm.
